From robots able to behave just like people to major developments in areas that impact our everyday lives, new inventions are brought to our attention every year, and most of them are truly ingenious ideas that could change our lives for the better. There are, however, some inventions that can hardly be called revolutionary scientific innovations, as they are rather crazy and even ridiculous contraptions.
Air Conditioned Shoes – Brought to the market by Hydo-Tech, the air conditioned dress shoes for men provide extra fresh air in your soles. The company claims that the advanced filter technology keeps your feet refreshed and clean at all times. Nonetheless, we would argue that it’s just a pair of shoes with holes in them which want to pass as a luxurious item. Honestly, we can put holes in our own shoes and not pay a dime for it.
The iPotty – A bizarre contraption that combines an iPad with a potty, the iPotty has been advertised as a product designed to help young children with potty training. This strange potty features a special stand to securely hold the iPad and it was named the worst toy of the year in 2013 by the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood. We can’t blame them, actually, as potty training has nothing to do with playing games and using mobile apps.
Anti-pervert hairy stockings – One of the weirdest inventions of all time in our opinion is the pair of hairy leggings that were a viral sensation back in 2013. Their initial purpose was to put off any men with nefarious intentions towards women, but the end result is outright repellant so anyone wearing them must rest assured they won’t fall victim to assault.
The Baby Mop – What started out as a joke, turned out to be a real baby outfit that doubles as a cleaning tool. It’s basically an onesie with a mop attached so that the babies could clean the floor while crawling around the house.
They Hay Fever Hat – This is another weird Japanese gadget supposed to make life easier for those fighting with allergies, colds, fever and other diseases. This is actually a toilet paper roll mounted to a hat that allows easy access to the toilet paper, which flows down your when you need to blow your nose
While some of these ideas sound crazy, we wouldn’t rush to call then unpractical, as they could actually prove to be useful with time, even if they might seem ridiculous now.
